UTAH!!

Our trip home to Utah was great! We stayed for 3 weeks and were really ready to go back home to warm and sunny Florida! Except we must have brought some Utah weather back with us because it has been nothing but 30's and 40's since we got back. We had so much fun and had so many events going on while we were there.

Our trip didnt start out as fun as we wanted. At home Conner is neither a mama's boy nor a daddy's boy, he will just take us equally. But for some reason on the airplane Conner decided he wanted nothing to do with Tim. This also ended up being Conner's worst flight ever. It was a late flight and we thought Conner would sleep, we even gave him some Benedryl. Conner was already a little sleepy but about 20 min after we gave him the Benedryl he was alert and hyper...great...So I wrestled a 26lb 1 year old for 4 hours who would only let me hold him, and when I say hold I mean climb on top of, pull hair, scratch, and get bottles thrown at me. There was screaming and crying and tantrums, and Conner wasnt good either! I spent the last hour of the flight in the bathroom letting conner unroll and rip up toliet paper one square at a time. He was also sick with a resperatory infection and didnt want people to hold him for the next few days. He enjoyed the kids and the grandparents spoiling him, but I think the big crowds were a little much for Conner. He is use to being with just me and Tim in our little apartment and only being in groups at church for 3 hours and the grocery store once a week. So he had a rough time in the beginning. Tim assured me the whole time that it wasnt so fun on the other end, it made him sad that Conner wouldnt go to him. I still think I would switch though, its not fun when you cant even go to the bathroom with out your baby crying and banging on the door. But at the end he was so much fun and would let anyone hold and play with him without me being in the room.

The first big event of the trip was my Grandpas 80th birthday celebration. It was so great to get to see all of my Dad's family and celebrate my Grandpa's birthday.

We also went to see Santa while we were there

On the way to see Santa. He is so excited, he doesn't know what he's in for.

My nieces and nephews and Conner with Santa. We gave Conner his binky and my cell phone, and he didnt cry at all with Santa. Mind you this is still when Tim couldnt even hold him. So it was a big deal that he didnt cry wih someone else, let alone Santa.

My baby also turned 1 while we were there. Tear. I dont have any pictures from his party because my sister in law took them for me, so when I get the disc from her I will post them. But we had a fun airplane party for him.

My dad made Conner blue pancakes for his birthday breakfast.

He LOVED it!

What a cute kid.

My niece Katelyn loves tea sets and has tea parties all the time. So I decided to have a real tea party with her using my mom's china. She dressed up in her princess dress and wore my Grandma Sevy's old jewelry and party purse. We served milk and left over birthday cake. She looked so cute and absolutley loved it.
Such a pretty girl!

I love that she had to sit on phone books to reach the table.

We showed her how to put your pinky up while you are drinking tea. She tried so hard to put it up every time, sometimes she used her pointer or birdy finger, it was cute.

When it was over and she was walking up the stairs to change her clothes she turned to me and said, "That was the most beautiful party I've ever been too." She is so cute.

On Christmas Eve Conner woke up from his nap with a tempurature of 103. We were going to Orem to spend Christmas Eve with Tim's family, and his dad's cousin is a retired pediatrician and said he would look at Conner to see what was wrong. On the way down to Orem he threw up all over his Christmas outfit. Dr. Jones decided Conner just had a stomach flu since his only symptoms were upset stomach and fever. So I didnt take very many pictures that night becasue I was busy with a sick baby. Tim's family has a fun tradition of having a pinata on Christmas Eve, the kids love it. We had a great time despite Conner being sick.

We spent Christmas with my family and had a great time. Conner slept through all of us opening our presents. Tim got a lot of clothes, movies and books. I got lots of money for clothes, a gps, and movies.

Conner was spoiled and got a lot of toys, books, movies, clothes, and a big tent with a tunnel, and an airplane bike/walker.

He loved the airplane and was so cute on it!

When Conner gets excited he throws his head back like that. Its so funny. My sister made Conner that robe, he opened it on Christmas Eve and he looks so cute in it.

The airplane was every kids favorite toy and Conner would push them all around on it.

My sisters family got a Wii for Christmas and the boys spent a lot of time on that playing super mario brothers and golf. I really like bowling and golf.

Christmas night Conner woke up with a temperature of 104.5 and was throwing up. We put him in the bath to see if we could get his temperature down until we could take him to the instacare in the morning. When we put him in his butt and thighs were bright red like a sunburn, not a rash, it wasnt bumpy, but just like a sunburn. We got his temperature down a little and got him back to sleep and took him to the instacare the next morning. Well babies cant get strep throat unless they are at least 2 I think, well did you know that they can still get the infection, except they dont get strep throat, they get strep butt! Yup, Conner had strep butt. Poor kid, so he was put on an antibiotic and was feeling tons better the next day. I'd like to say that was the end of his sickness on the trip, but he did get a cold a few days before we left. The joys of traveling with kids!

We went sledding with Tims family in the mountains in Springville at a hill called Jolley Ranch. It was so much fun and Conner did pretty well with it. We didnt have any snow clothes for Conner so we borrowed some from Tim's sister. Everything he wore was purple, purple snow suit, purple hat, purple gloves, purple shoes! We were calling him Connie all afternoon.

They even have a fire there for you to warm up! It was so much fun, you should all try it!
Despite Conner getting sick, we had so much fun out in Utah. It was so great to see all of our family and friends. We saw a lot of movies, ate at a lot of yummy places, played a lot of games and had some great conversations. We miss you guys already!!
